The night person was so nice & accommodating. He was very professional & kind considering the late hour of my check in. The room was very clean. I was very thankful for the room & kindness because of the storms & flash flooding in the area that forced me to get a room for the night. The morning view from my room was beautiful. The breakfast was delicious & had many options.

Hyatt Place is right across from MLK PLAZA and there is a lovely memorial there on the principles of non violence. There is also sculpture and a walkway marking historical timeline of the movement. Beautifully done. This town is very quaint and I definitely will return to see more of the art scene.

It was filthy in areas. Rugs were disgustingly dirty.
It was filthy in areas. Rugs were disgustingly dirty. Bathroom was an electrical hazard. Breakfast was tasteless and stale. Same food daily. Pastries like hockey pucs and pancakes hard like discus thrown in cross country sports or olympics. Pool indoor super disappointing and cold. Hot tub was cold tub less then your body temperature. Door did not latch when closed and man opened stating wrong room. Very unsafe. I will never book a room there again or any Ramada any where.

Our hometown, so definite nostalgia factor. (We now live in Texas.) Wonderful to see that the town is flourishing. The short walk to campus and pedestrian-friendly is great for those who enjoy a stroll.

The hotel was run down and dirty we chose to check out and leave early not to stay the second night.
The check in staff was rude and couldn't even find my reservation.
We are up there a lot as our son goes to Penn State and I would not recommended this hotel to anyone.

Bad all around - staff need training in customer service.
Bad all around - staff need training in customer service. Could not find my reservation, even after providing confirmation - hotel stated date was wrong on their end and changed my room and charged me more $$. Needs cleaner bathroom and provide appropriate bedding. Restaurant service lacking, along with food quality, overpiced.

The staff is great.
The staff is great. The rooms are comfortable, The bathrooms are spacious. Thanks for allowing me to travel with my dog. The onsite restaurant is great. We took advantage of the nice free breakfast and also had dinner there both evenings. It was tasty, and arrived at the table hot. Drinks were refilled without asking! Waitstaff is exceptional.
The staff are as friendly and helpful as I've rarely seen. I found myself in this hotel in spite of myself, as I was supposed to be in another hotel in the center of State College.
I was a little disappointed, but in the end I found myself in a wonderful hotel, whose greatest strength is the human quality of the people working there.
I recommend it 100% and would go back without hesitation!
Everything ! From check in to check out ! The friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered , beautiful hotel , breakfast was 5 star , Kelly & Melissa in the breakfast area were so friendly & sweet . Rooms were exceptional , great place for pets , indoor pool was very well maintained . comfortable beds . Great location with beautiful views . Highly recommend.
I stay here every time that I travel to State College after staying at other locations for years. I am very happy with this property, the amenities, and you will not find a better stay for the price. The staff has always been great. The rooms are consistent. One of the best restaurants in the area is located on property.
The hotel room was beautiful and had a very spacious bathroom in it. Bed was somewhat firm but I was able to sleep. I loved the proximity to get to everywhere I needed to go while in State College. I definitely plan on staying there again - just not at game time due to the inflated pricing.
The hotel was very warm and welcoming with the fireplace and decorations in the lobby. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. The King room was big and very accommodating with a comfy bed and a great shower. The frig, microwave and sink area was exactly what we wanted.
We found our room clean and spacious. The hotel itself has a nice lobby area. Conveniently located to town. We loved the free shuttle into town. Overall a positive stay and will definitely stay at the Penn Starter today.
Everything was super it's one of the best hotel I have seen in state college I do recommend it to everyone
If I come again sure I'll book in this hotel its super
The breakfast is lovely it's more than what you need
Everyone was wonderful!! From the desk staff to the breakfast person to the cleaning folks, the service was first rate. The hotel is clean and has everything I need. It was a delightful stay that I expect to repeat.
The Hotel is a good place if you want to visit somebody in State College. Food supermarkets are close by, the hotel can be easily reached by car. The room ist quite spacious, the rooms in the back are very quiet.
The property is dirty and not well kept. Very disappointed especially for the price we paid. We use Booking.com frequently especially in the State College area. This is the first time we were disappointed.
Not bad for State college. It is basically an old building with tons of wallpaper to cover everything up. Rooms are good and comfortable. Location is best part of this place with parking below.
Just a spectacular surprise of staying at this amazing boutique hotel! Spectacular staff and great rooms! John and staff in the restaurant was just awesome addition and great breakfast!
great hotel, conveniently located, rooms are renovated and in good condition, staff is nice, decent breakfast. Price is very attratctive, great value for money.
